I marvel at your wisdom
In nature’s gifts abounding
I marvel at the simple
And the absolute astounding
I see your deeds before me
And spread across the heavens
Yet Man has fallen down too far
Why did he you abandon

Every day divided
Between darkness and the light
Yet sunlit hearts and saintly souls
Have fallen to the night
Everywhere around me
Your wisdom overflowing
Yet as I look much closer
Still demons coming going

It’s not that now I doubt you
Or sold my tattered soul
It’s just that under every step
A deeper, darker hole
You made us in your likeness
Then shame to all of you
For life on Earth is but a curse
A sadly common view

I know you have your ways and means
And life is our own making
But why do you with all your might
Let children still be taken
Yes, let us each one suffer
For all that we have done
But don’t you think you could have helped us
Evil overcome

No longer can I bear it
The sin of human kind
From way before the birth of Christ
To in the future, blind
It’s you I hold accountable
Your hosts have all retreated
For on their lips your words were still
Now history repeated

So now I stand before you
And challenge you to show
No longer can you hide behind the myths
That legend know
Come forth in all your glory
As mystics once had seen
To drive the evil from our hearts
Where goodness once had been
